    Yom Kippur
I came to conclusion that religious or any sort of fasting is not for me. I have 5 more hours to go, and I am about to die of starvation. Beside, I cheat by drinking water.

    Andya Garcia's The Lost City
So finally, there' s a movie that shows what kind of monster Che Guevara was. Can now somebody explain to me why he still continues to be a hero for so many people, especially people who live in "Western" countries??? Why wear a t-shirt with Che Guevara on it, and not Stalin or Hitler? I guess people are just ignorant and do not know the history.

    god bless America!!!!!!
I fucked up my $150 flat iron while in Europe. The adaptor exploded even before I turned the flat iron on. Of course both of the devices were ruined. Now Radioshack is reimbursing me with $150. Imagine anything like that happening in Europe? Especially in countries like France, Italy or Spain.

I just realized that SF not only stands for Svetlana Friedland and San Francisco, but also for Single Female. How depressing

    My "sideways"
Since my good Russian friend and I were recently dumped by two Israeli guys (who by the way know each other well), and spent the last week crying on each others shoulder, we finally decided that there is no such man on earth who would deserve our tears (although we still continue to weep....)and headed on Sunday to Sonoma and Napa valley. Together with us was a sweet Jewish cardiologist from NYC, who came to SF for a conference. My best friend who works with him, asked me to show the guy around....( actually my friend's intentions were to hook me up with the guy) When my mom found out that the guy will be making $700,000/year, and that I have no interest whatsoever in him, she made this usual face of hers, suggesting that I am a total brainless idiot who's looking for Brad Pitt (which is not true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and will end up her life alone. What do you want....Jewish mama.

So we started out morning at a gorgeous Domaine Carneros www.domaine.com, with a few glasses of sparkling rose and a cheeseplate. Then we headed to the Tuscan Viansa Winery http://www.viansa.com/, had a nice brunch at some Pinot Blanc restau, and finished our day at Francis Ford Coppola's winery, where the nice rich Jewish doctor bought each of us a bottle of white wine.

I wish you could all be there with us.

    Mouse in my house
As I was watching the French movie Love etc with Charlotte Gainsbourg and her hubby Yvan Attal, I saw a mouse passing by me. I was gone with the wind in seconds from my living room. With trembling hands I dialed the number of our building mananager, who fortunately was at home. She immediately offered to either send her husband and son to catch the monster, or bring her cat. I begged for the first offer. The fucking bastard came through the hole in the floor, where our heater is. The guys put the tape around the hole, promising that they would send somebody the next day to fix the thing and catch the mice. Right now i am trying to get drunk with champagne, so that I can fall asleep easily. i actually started having hallucinations: as I resumed watching the "chef-d'oeuvre", my side vision caught something dark runing along the corridor. I still don't know whether it was a mouse, or a figment of my imagination.
You guys cannot even imagine how much I dislike species like mice, rats and snakes.

OK, I just made a research on Bond's girls, and came to conclusion that I am gonna be either Anya Amasova from The Spy who love me, played by Barbara Bach, or Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye, played by Famke Janssen. The problem, is I need to get a small gun, and I don't know where to buy one. Freaking Walgreen's does not sell any types of guns, even water guns. I am going to Toys R Us later on.

OK. SO i called him again. (I hate myself for that)

He is not dead. (c'est bien deja)
And apparently I am still not dumped . At least that's what he said. Putain............je haie tous ces cons. Et tout ca a cause de quoi? Sexe? Je m'attache tres facilement aux mecs avec qui je baise. J'imagine c'est pas seulement mon cas

    Gaza disengagement
I cannot watch news anymore. I start shaking at the sight of Jewish settlers being forced to leave and destroy their houses. :(
If only "the World" realized that this project will not bring ANY peace, but only more blood.

    Oh, those Russians
I guess Russians has learnt something from the submarine accident 5 years ago, when they refused help from the US and everybody else.
This time they did ask for the British and American help. I am only afraid that it's gonna be too late, since of course (in a pure Russian-Soviet tradition) there's only that much oxygen.....they are not even sure how much they had initially of it.

    Recent movies I've seen
I went to see La Marche de l'Empereur last weekend, which is a documentary about Penguins, made by French. Morgan Freeman is the narrator.
The movie is very very touchy, and of course I cried. (there is nothing surprising about that, considering that I cried like at any funeral while watching King Kong 20 years ago)
